Your First Appointment
Four Examinations - Three Goals
Our goals for your care consist of :
- Arriving at and maintaining good health
- Providing good function
- Achieving your Cosmetic and Aesthetic goals
It all starts with a four part examination:
- A soft tissue examination for cancer screening and detection of
other diseases
- An examination of your gums for periodontal disease and
evaluation of your home care
- A detailed examination of your teeth
- X-Rays as needed (We aim to minimize your exposure to x-rays
while obtaining maximum diagnostic information to ensure that we
don't miss anything we can't see.)
Good Health
The Canadian Dental Association defines oral health as a state of
the oral and related tissues and structures that contribute
positively to physical, mental and social well-being and to the
enjoyment of life's possibilities, by allowing the individual to
speak, eat and socialize unhindered by pain, discomfort or
embarrassment.
It is our goal to help you achieve good oral health. Keeping a
healthy mouth is an important part of leading a healthy life.
Good Function
Hand in hand with good health, healthy function
means being able eat comfortably, speak clearly, and smile.
Cosmetic and Aesthetic Concerns
A pleasing appearance and smile can make all the
difference in your ability to communicate that sense of good health,
and to promote a good feeling about yourself. We will work with you
to help you put on your best smile.
